Wild Hare Distillery is home to DROVE Spirits, an award-winning line of Blue Weber Agave and WHD Spirits, a line of small batch whiskey and vodka.
Our spirits are always available at our Tempe distillery, at many Total Wine locations in the Phoenix Metro area and at select restaurants and bars in Gilbert, Chandler, Scottsdale, Tempe, Phoenix, Cave Creek, and Prescott. We are now also available for online ordering!
DROVE CRISTAL
80 Proof
This is the base product produced in the distillery. It is 100% blue Weber agave. It is organic and non-GMO. The nectar is imported from the Jalisco area of Mexico. It includes both highlands and lowlands nectar. The taste of those regions is obvious with the forward flavor as opposed to the finish. No sugar or artificial colors are added. Highland agave has a sweeter taste while the lowlands have an earthier taste.
DROVE EL CHOCOLATE
80 Proof
Using the base, DROVE Cristal, a fermented raw cacao is an organic, non-GMO flavoring agent. It is used to offer a dark chocolate flavor. Again, no sugar is added. It’s a great mixer with Amaretto and Chambord. It also mixes well with Irish cream products or in coffee. Some customers have used it as a substitute for vodka in a Black Russian.
DROVE EL ROBLE
92 Proof
The non-traditional white American Oak barrel, a char #3, provides the color and flavor of this spirit.
DROVE ROBLE BLANCO SALVAJE
93 Proof
A char 2 barrel with a medium toast and Madagascar vanilla beans are added to the barrel. It provides this product with a bourbon mouthfeel. The finish described by tasters is vanilla finish with hints of caramel. The vanilla finish takes about 3 to 5 seconds after the tasting. Be sure to take your time with this product to experience the full flavor profile. This product is popular in an Old Fashioned (using agave, not sugar), neat or on a solid, large ice cube. Salvaje, as it is referred to in the distillery, is the number 1 seller of the DROVE line out of the distillery. In March of 2020, it won in the San Francisco World Spirits event. It was the only winner in the category for a product made in the USA.
DROVE LA VAINILLA
80 Proof
Madagascar vanilla beans are added to 5-gallon glass carboys for 3 to 4 weeks to add flavor. This subtle but powerful vanilla flavoring has no added sugar or coloring. This subtle but lasting vanilla flavor holds up well in rum drinks. The top selling drink in the distillery is On Vacation. It includes pineapple, coconut cream and orgeat. The vanilla flavor sticks around long after the drink is gone. This product won in the fall of 2019 at the International Asian Spirits award.
DROVE LA CANELA
80 Proof
This product is flavored with cinnamon sticks, not powder or extract. It infuses within a couple of days. No sugar is added to the product. It smells like Christmas, but it tastes like a baked crumb cake. A favorite mix for this drink includes hot or cold tea (optional), a little lemon and a touch of agave. In December of 2020, this cinnamon spirit won for both the product and label design at the Proof awards in Nevada. The product will be featured in an edition of Food and Beverage magazine in 2021. This product also won at the ASCoT awards in Dallas. ASCoT awards sole sponsor was Total Wine & more.
DROVE CAFÉ NEGRO
80 Proof
This product is flavored with Kona coffee. The infusion process must be carefully checked to achieve the unique, unsweetened coffee flavor. Many customers use this product in their after dinner coffee, with Irish cream, or with our DROVE El Chocolate and Irish Cream as a martini. This product will also go well with Amaretto to provide a nutty finish to your evening after dinner drink.
DROVE ROBLE HUNGARO’
80 Proof
This agave spirit product is unique for its whiskey mouthfeel and slight smokey flavor. It rests with the Hungarian oak for 21 days. It is very popular in the distillery with customers that love the light smoke, barrel aged whiskey products. Customers love it neat, on ice, or mixed with a bit of agave nectar and a little cherry syrup from the Luxardo container.
WHD WHISKEY
90 Proof
This whiskey is distilled in Tennessee by the Tennessee Distilling Company using a WHD recipe. This sour mash whiskey mash bill includes corn, rye and barley. It is barreled in a new white American oak #3 char barrel for 4 to 6 months. Afterwards, it is transferred to a second new white American Oak barrel. The unique #2 char barrel is also medium toasted and rests for an additional 6 weeks. Since the second barrel is unique (nontraditional), it has cross cuts and honey combs inside the barrel itself. It provides a straight whiskey flavor without the typical age time in a traditional barrel.
WHD WHISKEY BARREL STRENGTH
122-123 Proof
This is the same whiskey as above. It is bottled straight out of the 53-gallon barrel, a single barrel offering. It is the proof of the barrel once decanted.
WHD Straight Rye Whiskey
90 Proof
This award-winning straight rye whiskey is distilled in Indiana. It is 95% rye and 5% barley. It was introduced in September of 2021, and is single-barreled. It is 2-3 and a half years old. It is one of the most popular products sold at the distillery since its introduction. Great in a Manhattan or Old Fashioned.
WHD Straight Rye Whiskey Barrel
117 Proof
The same WD Straight Rye Whiskey bottled straight out of the 53-gallon barrel. Those who want a bit of ‘heat’ and the spiciness expected from a rye will enjoy this hearty spirit. It does not disappoint since it finishes with caramel and toffee sweetness from the barrel. Enjoy this rye over a large cube. It does not need anything more.
